🌿 Join the invasive species removal in the Valtenberģi Manor park

On 7 October, a volunteer work day will take place in the Valtenberģi Manor park as part of the initiative “Daru labu dabai” (Doing good for nature). Its aim is to control the invasive false spiraea (Sorbaria sorbifolia) and at the same time raise public awareness of environmental protection and biodiversity conservation.

The event is organised in cooperation between the LIFE Osmo Baltic project, implemented by the Nature Conservation Agency, and Valmiera Municipality. It is part of the activities of the “Salacas ieleja” (Salaca Valley) Nature Park, where measures to control the invasive species began this year.

👩‍🌾 The shrubs will be pulled out and dug up by hand.
📌 Please register by filling in the registration form by 6 October.

Participants are asked to:

  • dress for the weather,
  • wear closed shoes or rubber boots.
    Work gloves will be provided!
