Salaca clean-up on 9 May! 🌿

Starting at 10:00 at Lašlejas, Vecsalaca, Limbaži Municipality!

On 9 May, the Fishing Club “Salackrasti”, together with the Svētupe Protection Society, invites you to join a clean-up of the banks of the Salaca River. The clean-up will run from the “Atpūtas” recreation site in the Ainaži rural area all the way to the port area in Salacgrīva.

Anyone interested can take part in the clean-up, but please register in advance so that we know roughly how many volunteers to expect.

After a good day’s work, there will be an excellent soup on the bank of the Salaca and a chat with fellow volunteers.

The clean-up is organised by the fishing club “Salackrasti” and the Svētupe Protection Society and supported by the Life is Salaca project.

The members of the fishing club will make sure you have everything you need for the work, including work gloves, rubbish bags and a warm lunch. Combine business with pleasure and spend the day on the riverbank, doing good deeds in the fresh air!

The river will be divided into eight sections along both banks. Small groups of volunteers will be placed in each section so that the work progresses evenly along the whole river.

Plan for the day

• Meeting point for everyone: Vecsalaca at 10:00, “Lašlejas”, Niedru iela 9 (by the inspection building in Vecsalaca park, coordinates: 57.755074, 24.413669). The morning briefing and the distribution of work gloves and bags will also take place there. This time there is no need to bring your own tools.

• You can get to the starting point by car, by bike, on foot or even by boat.
• Before the big river clean-up, there will be a chance to learn how the Life is Salaca project is progressing.
• After a great day’s work, we invite you to enjoy an excellent soup on the bank of the Salaca and talk over the day together.
