Photo orienteering game “Treasures of the Salaca valley”

Everyone is invited to take part in an educational game in the specially protected nature area “Salacas ieleja” (Salaca Valley) Nature Park. The game is organised by the LIFE IS SALACA project team.

🎯 Aim of the game

The main aim is to educate the public about the natural and cultural values of the “Salacas ieleja” Nature Park and to involve the public in nature conservation issues, which are particularly topical now that the park’s new nature conservation plan is being drawn up.

🧭 How does the game work?

The game takes place in three rounds: in Mazsalaca, Staicele and Salacgrīva. You do not have to take part in all rounds to play. For each round, a map with a route and checkpoints has been prepared. Participants have to visit the checkpoints of the round and, at each one, find the matching photo shown on the game map.

The game is designed for individual participants or teams who want to get to know both the local cultural heritage and natural values, discovering new knowledge about biodiversity.
